Societe The Butcher
Aroma: “Rich and chocolaty, with a black patent malt character, intense roast, and subtle smoke. Coffee notes come through as French roast, with a touch of dark cocoa and charred sugar. Dark fruit esters add sweetness, and as it warms, a smoky flavor emerges.”
Flavor: “Massively roasty, with cocoa-powder richness that supports. The roast intensity is kept in check with the sweet body, but the charred/burned character dominates. Molasses and black licorice emerge as it warms. Notes of stone-fruit esters round things out.”
Overall: “This brings the wallop of roast and chocolate. An interesting coffee character hangs in the background, but for those who want roast and nothing but roast, we’ve found the beer for you.”
