Perennial Artisan Ales 4 Happiness

Aroma: “This is like a hug—sweet and welcoming. Wonderful esters: cherry, plum, apricot, raisins, and prune. Nice alcohol warmth. Sherry notes and peppery phenols. Bold vanilla, nice oak character. Complex sour cherry, blackberry, and even raspberry notes. A very rich malt with chocolate, roast, and caramel complexity only heightens the anticipation of tasting this beer.”

Flavor: “Malt flavors of chocolate, cacao, caramel, slight roast. Fruit sweetness of bold cherry, raisin, plum, prune, some apple. It’s sweet, but a tart lactic undercurrent balances it. The warmth adds complexity and does not cut the sweet. There’s a definite vinous element. The intense juicy tart cherry and dark chocolate make it taste like a liquid cherry cordial.”

Overall: “With all the bold flavors, the beer comes together for a crazy big experience. To pin it to a style would undersell the beer. It can stand on its own, defining a new category of deliciousness. This is a glass of beer that shows off the finest skills of the brewer.”
