“Playful nose of straw, honeysuckle, and orange blossoms. Bready, floral, herbal at the outset. The malt flavor is subdued with a bit of white bread and Cheerios. Minimal hops, but fermentation esters add complexity. Some graininess, low carbonation, and relatively high residual sugars. Sweetness balanced by herbal hops more than bitterness.”

BKS Artisan Ales Pivo Project: Bohemian style Pilsner

“Pale yellow color with tight bubbles on a moderate, white head. Pleasant aroma of spicy grass. Lean but clear grainy malt flavor holds up to the moderate-plus bitterness. The hops meld with the malt to form a hoppy chewiness that works. Hint of sulfur is pleasant as well. Striking hop flavor really stands above the rest in this category. All the components dance around each other in harmony. Delicious.”

New Belgium Dominga Grapefruit

New Belgium wood cellar blender Lauren Limbach was gifted a new foeder that she aptly named Dominga—a play on the Spanish word for Sunday.
