What the brewers say

“Smooth and layered English barleywine … notes of rich caramel, toffee, and licorice.”

What our panel thought

“Classic C-hop and caramel in the nose with a little wood and some booze. Woodier in the flavor, very cedar-like, as some vanilla and tannins lead the way. Good firm hop bitterness with plenty of alcohol and some caramel and toffee balance.”

What our editors thought

“Slightly tropical nose. As oak mellows, the papaya and mango notes emerge like a New Zealand sauvignon blanc. Charred wood with a light herbal amaro bitterness pushes forward in the sip, pleasantly balanced.”
