“5% Pilsner with Saaz and a little Sterling. floor-malted bohemian Pilsner malt. Step-mashes and a single decoction, naturally carbonated to 2.3 volumes and finished carb 2.7+ cold-Conditioned 8 weeks.”
What our panel thought
“Light floral hops join a light spray of bready malt to form a mild and pleasant bouquet. The flavor has the same elements, but they don’t hang together as well, in part because of the low carbonation. That flattens the flavor and robs some of the crispness. Nice lingering bitterness, but it’s late to the party. Light mineral notes mix within an aroma of herbal/floral hops and cracker-like malt. That mineral character carries through into the flavor and seems to simultaneously accentuate and muddy the complexity of the hop bitterness, especially in the finish.”
