No Label Brewing Co Nightmare On 1st Street (2023)
What the brewers say
“Big, malty, biscuity, caramel flavor. Good thoughts of pumpkin and lots of ginger and clove, with a bit of cinnamon and allspice to balance. Just enough hops.”
What our panel thought
“Boozy and malty with reserved vanilla and nutmeg. Pleasant alcohol warmth. Big caramel notes interplay with pumpkin spice. Some peppery spice in the back end. Dangerous and well-balanced. Complex, fun, and smooth.”
What our editors thought
“Hazy red-amber, decent beige foam. Deep, rich pumpkin-pie aroma. Caramel-oxidation notes reinforce that sweet baked-pie mental image. Full-bodied and creamy. Quite sweet up front, yet the flavor delivers with some malty-caramel-spicy depth and a reasonable earthy bitterness that balances out the dessert. Creamy, fluffy mouthful helps to mitigate the sweetness. Spice-spice works well with yeast-spice.”
