Pure Project Shallow Skies

What the brewers say

We explore exotic new frontiers with this Middle Eastern–inspired, coral-colored hard kombucha.

What our panel thought

Aroma takes me to a Moroccan restaurant that’s generous with rosewater. The sip brings deep rose essence, like wandering through Portland Rose Garden, with a vinegar touch. Floral depth grounded by tea-like tannin and delicate cherry hints. Unique.

What our editors thought

Gorgeous, vivid magenta color. The nose steers clear of sweet, with an earthy but refined floral note. The flavor is subtle, with tannic tea adding bite to the effervescence, softened by earthy floral notes and soft vanilla. Rosy. Intense.

Pure Project Euphorik with Blackberry

Light funk on the nose. Hints of lemongrass, leather, horse blanket, wet hay, and a light stone-fruit character create a delicate, inviting aroma. An initial tart, peach-like character fades into an acidic lemon-lime flavor with hints of oak-derived tannin and light vanilla. The acidity builds quickly but also dissipates quickly.

Triple Crossing Brewing Company Citra Triangles IPA

“Meringue-like nose, with notes of soft, sweet lemon curd, vanilla, and weed—in fact, it smells just like a THC-infused edible. Sweetish flavor, near-creamy mouthfeel, low bitterness, but then it dries out nicely. Just a bit of alcoholic warmth.”

Dutchess Ales GB Pale Ale

Earthy, herbal, grassy hop aroma with mild fruit and light toasty malt. In the flavor, nice balance between assertive hop bitterness, earthy-piney hop flavor, and toasty-bread malt. Super drinkable. Lasting bitterness. Could enjoy several. This hits the numbers.
