Twin Span Brewing Lager Dam 14
What the brewers say
An easy drinking lager inspired by Pre-Prohibition beers.
What our panel thought
"Clean, floral and perfume like hops notes in the aroma are followed by a firmly bitter but crisp sit with some nice corn-like sweetness to counter the bold but well balanced bitterness. Red apple skin-forward, cidery aromatics with a touch of noble grassy hops. More a grainy character in flavor, but drinks quite lean. Bitterness cuts away nearly all the sweetness. Incredibly refreshing, and approachable—alcohols are subdued. The apparently cidery character in conjunction with offsetting flavor, works really well together. Snappy and crisp in the finish with a nice lingering bitterness."
What our editors thought
"Plum skin, dried rose, and a vividly intense potpourri aroma—ambitious and a touch overzealous but earnest with an almost Belgian pils rustic note. Chewy malt in the sip with rustic grain and a deep toned hearty herbal bitterness that suits the style's hardworking roots."
