Cascade Brewing Apricot Ale

Aroma: “Nice complexity in the nose—big apricot, slight Brett horse blanket, bitter lemon zest, and mango. Interesting apricot notes along with a white pepper/spice note that make it unique. Nice acidity/tartness on the nose to balance the sweet fruit character.”

Flavor: “Light Brett bitterness adds complexity. Candied apricot notes along with some berry notes and a bit of spice. A nice lactic tartness provides complexity and balance and accentuates the fruit without stealing the show. Finish is pleasantly balanced between tart and sweet, with fruit throughout.”

Overall: “A well-integrated, complex, and balanced apricot sour. Brett, Lacto, and apricot are all present and at different points are the focal point for the beer. Apricot definitely finishes the beer with a touch of lactic and pineapple to back it up. A refreshingly original take on the fruited sour.”
