Kannah Creek Apricot Sour

Aroma: “Light, clean acidity with a touch of malt and light fruity hops. Stone-fruit notes mingle with citrus and Pilsen malt, making it seem as if I were smelling a slice of bread with apricot preserves.”

Flavor: “The aroma promised more than the flavor delivered. The smooth-ish yogurt culture-like Lacto blends with a touch of strong fruit bitterness, but it’s not on a mouth-puckering level. The fruit flavor complements the esters. As it warms, the toasted malt character opens up, followed by subtle apricot and peach stone fruits, and leaving with a dry finish.”

Overall: “A respectable kettle sour that delivers on many fronts, but misses on others. The sour tartness is front and center, with a touch of fruitiness to add complexity. It’s an easy-drinking beer that’s tart and fruity, although it doesn’t provide the same depth of the better beers in this category.”
