What the brewers say

“Imperial Stout aged 12 months in Rittenhouse Rye barrels with cacao nibs, vanilla beans, ancho chiles & cinnamon sticks.”

What our panel thought

Aroma: “Intense cinnamon, vanilla, caramel, semisweet chocolate with some dark fruit sweetness.”

Flavor: “Cinnamon for days! Semisweet chocolate. Slight coffee, vanilla, caramel. Quite boozy but not harsh. The cayenne burn on the finish is present and appropriate, and the tannins from the barrel and whiskey blend well with the rest of the adjuncts.”

Overall: “Dios Mio, man! So good. Mexican dark chocolate stout on cinnamon steroids with a warming whiskey finish. A bottle of this and a lucha libre mask would make anyone a formidable force in the wrestling ring.”
