New Planet Blonde Ale
Aroma: “Buttery, sweet and candy-like. Little-to-no hops aroma. Green-apple notes up front, with a touch of must and some spice notes, perhaps from hops. Cider-like aroma full of green-apple skin and cane sugar.”
Flavor: “Butter, sweet candy character. Tart, green-apple and very cider-like. Finishes semidry. Notes of candi sugar and honey but could use more hops flavor. Green-apple notes with a strong carbonic bite. Soapy and some chloro- phenolic properties that give a bit of astringency in the finish with apple-skin tannins and a hint of pear juice.”
Overall: “Lots of green-apple character, and the carbonation is a bit too high, giving it a bit of carbonic bite. The finish is a little less dry than others. There is a harshness common to these, and the sweet finish seems to help battle it. Comes across like a cider with very funky medicinal notes.”
