New Holland Brewing Company Blue Sunday Sour

Aroma: “Wonderful, sweet barleywine dark fruit notes up front with plum and raisin and a slight tart note in the background. Touch of coffee, light roast, and red wine notes.”

Flavor: “Very rich yet refreshing. Moderate acidity (clean and crisp) with a touch of toasted malts and sweetness and big body (for the style). Moderate red wine and big cherry notes. Sourness is present in just the right amount to complement the deep, highly kilned malt notes. Residual earthy and wood notes complement the firm sour base.”

Overall: “Great dark fruit notes with lactic sourness balanced with caramel sweetness. A fun fruit-forward beer with a big malt backbone and cherry notes throughout. The low carbonation and high residual sweetness make this easy to drink, while the woody _Brett _notes and other wild flavors keep things interesting. This tastes well-aged; drink it now!”
