What the brewers say

“Single oak–aged barleywine conditioned for 14 months in Blanton’s bourbon barrels.”

What our panel thought

“Big toffee and caramel aroma with nutty notes—almond and hazelnut—but no hop aroma or flavor. That sweet nuttiness carries through into the flavor, accentuated by moderate boozy warmth and noticeable oak. Sultanas add a big fruity note and linger into a long caramel finish.”

What our editors thought

“Bourbon chocolate collides with a dark herbaceous zip in the nose. The flavor leans sweeter, before caramel orange notes give way to a classic PNW hop linger.”
