What the brewers say

“On the nose, aromas of pears, peaches, and fresh apples. Frank, lively, and well balanced on the palate, it reveals notes of honeydew melon, Asian pear, and green grapes.”

What our panel thought

Aroma: “A bit of honey, grass, and jasmine. Floral element is pleasant, but it seems chaotic and slightly muddled—a fermentation issue? Light green apple and a very light touch of sulfur that blows off quickly, then notes of pineapple and pear.”

Flavor: “Strong honey character in the flavor, but the apple element is more generic. A bit of astringency in the mouth that the sweetness doesn’t fix. Aftertaste is moderately drying with strong green apple and moderate lingering acidity. Light flavor as well, but it works: it’s mostly just apple, but it’s nuanced apple flavor, with some mild complexity and maybe a hint of pear. Finishes clean.”

Overall: “Nothing challenging, but some great apple character. Finish has a nice tartness, but the astringency won’t leave me alone—I would not make this a first choice. Good cider, crisp and refreshing. Could drink this most of an evening.”
