Commonhouse Aleworks Oleander Pale Ale

What the brewers say

“Mosaic pale ale.”

What our panel thought

“Light tangelo, medium lime, and a hint of kiwi in the aroma. Orange, honeydew, cantaloupe, and lemon rind in the flavor. Moderate amount of bitterness staves off any sweetness. Soft malt backbone but a light minerality really work.”

What our editors thought

“Pink lemonade, faint floral, and a bit of apricot in the aroma. Sweet and broad in the sip, with bits of grapefruit, cherry, lemon, and a very soft fruity bitterness.”

Ahnapee Brewery Chores Zot

“The aroma hits with banana and rich bready malt. Honey-like sweetness. Butterscotchy. Fruity aspect takes a back seat in the flavor and lets the crusty white-bread malt notes take center stage. High carbonation and spicy hop bitterness keep the malt from being too sweet. Finishes clean.”

Abandoned Building Brewery Lola's Belgian Farmhouse Saison

“Hay and lemongrass with hints of banana hit the nose first. A sweet, funky amalgamation of herby, citrusy spice. PIllowy peppercorn with floral grace notes. Biscuity malt lays the groundwork for effervescent carbonation and a bitter finish. A minerality to the aftertaste.”

Commonhouse Aleworks Park Circle Pale Ale

“The pine-and-spruce hops offer an aromatic boost, and the flavor rides that evergreen impression into a citrus sunset. Bready malt bouys the flavor, softening the bitterness a touch in the finish. It’s a solid pale ale, with a pleasant emphasis on hops.”
