DESTIHL Brewery Deadhead IPA Series: Steal Your Haze

What the brewers say

“Features pilsen malt, flaked oats, and wheat with Citra, Cascade, and El Dorado to strike a chord of citrus, floral, and pine aromas and flavors.”

What our panel thought

“Muted aroma of lime, guava, tropical fruit. A note of grassiness and mint. Herbal, grassy, and minty notes become prominent in the flavor with light mango and guava. Heavier on the citrus/pine hop character than on the tropical fruit. Quite bitter, light bodied.”

What our editors thought

“Light vaguely pineapple nose with a touch of stone-fruit ester. The sip amps up the pineapple with a touch of tropical banana.”

Destihl Drivin’ That Haze IPA

Complex aroma, mixing West Coast dank with bright citrus and rich stone fruit. Instead of nice, subtle tastes to complement the aroma—rich, almost umami maltiness. Distinct sweetness balances diverse fruity flavors and hop-bitter dankness. Malt sweetness lasts.

DESTIHL Brewery Deadhead Series IPA: TourBus Double Dry Hopped Hazy IPA

“Intensely hoppy aroma of green hops, watermelon, cotton candy, lemon, slight pepper, and white tea. Lots of hops in the flavor profile, too: resin, melon, white ice wine. A grainy sweetness plays well with a fruity alcohol character.”

Outer Range Brewing Co Tromping

“Not a juicy IPA, but it’s squishy. Hop aroma of light pine, grass, a very light note of buttery diacetyl. Malt offers biscuit and pie crust. Initial sip delivers a light, minty spice note, then softens to light orange peel and peach yeast esters. Finish is a touch fruit sweet.”
