B. Nektar Meadery Kill All the Golfers

Aroma: “Prunes up front—a bit musty with a light honey sweetness, dried fruit esters, and some phenols. Strong herbal tea/black tea aroma. Citrus oil becomes more clean citrus zest with green tea and soft raw honey underneath.”

Flavor: “Lemon-lime sweetness with moderately full honey but thin body and grapefruity esters. Fleshy sharply-acidic off-dry finish, light pithy tannins, and a strongly puckering aftertaste of citrus and pith. Light honey sweetness, but this isn’t really about the honey as much as it’s citrus flavors mixed with tea notes. Light caramel, a touch of mango, moderate high acidity, and a touch of bitter astringency. It’s earthy and dank—almost vegetal. ”

Overall: “Tastes like a fruit rollup. Strong fruit esters compete with the light body. This is a fairly fun mead with the green tea and citrus coming through quite interestingly. Mango/plum fruit characteristics mesh surprisingly well with the green tea, although the astrin- gency keeps it from rating higher. Strong flavors muddy the flavor profiles.”
