Deep Ellum Local Legend

Aroma: “Some earthy roasted notes up front, with hints of dark chocolate, dark cherry, molasses, and raisins. Slight vanilla lingers in the nose, with a milk-like sweetness. Overall, a well-rounded aroma.”

Flavor: “Rich dark chocolate up front, with some roasty notes that help carry this beer and keep it from being too sweet. Vanilla milk flavor on the back of the palate provides a good counter to the roast, along with molasses, dates, and raisins. Dark chocolate and cream really shine through as this beer warms. The mouthfeel is fuller and thicker than others in the same ABV range. It finishes full and sweet and a bit chewy.”

Overall: “This is a nice blend between some sweet malt characters, chocolate, and earthy roast. It’s full and sweet without being too sweet. There’s a slight note of tobacco and roast, which works to balance the sweetness, and a nice, smooth finish.”
