“Creamy dulce-de-leche note softens the coffee and roast in the nose without sacrificing any of the structure, as it spans from sweet to smoke without missing a beat. The sip leads with chocolate and caramel playing against each other and a nice roasty bitterness, but gradually warms with bready caramel as it sits on the palate. Just a hint of herbal hops grounds it. Expansive yet concise.”

Maplewood Brewing Company Barrel Aged Cuppa Cellar Select

“Rich chocolate, roast malt with underlying layers of dried cherry, plum, and cinnamon. Aged oak and whiskey add a pleasant underlying heat. Chewy body lingers. Long chocolate finish.”

“Nose of dark Belgian chocolate, red fruits, vanilla. Malty layers of toffee, cacao, and burnt bread contrast with a firm bitterness. Full-bodied but not sweet. Solidly a porter.”

Maplewood Brewing Company Giallo

Nicely balanced aroma, with dark roasted malt and light fruity esters layered over alcohol with resin and floral hops. Bright and lively flavor highlights the roast with light coffee, cocoa, and toasted malt, but the strong acidity is distracting. Saccharine sweetness, with strong dark chocolate, and Hershey's syrup. Finishes fairly clean, with an odd savory note between sips. Nice depth of flavor, with small bits that upset the flow.

New Belgium Dominga Grapefruit

New Belgium wood cellar blender Lauren Limbach was gifted a new foeder that she aptly named Dominga—a play on the Spanish word for Sunday.
