What the brewers say

“English barleywine with a specific type of white oak added.”

What our panel thought

“Sweet caramelized toffee in the nose with deep amber malt. Some hop bitterness in the flavor with sweet malt mixed with toffee and raisin notes. Fig and dates appear as it warms. Finishes as sweet as the flavors preceding it. As sweet as they come, but as enjoyable as a candied treat can be.”

What our editors thought

“Playful nose with strawberry and cantaloupe over caramel midtones. It’s a bit sweet in the sip as those colorful fruits overpower the light tobacco bitterness.”
