Aroma: “Notes of Cherry, fig, red apple, caramel, and very slight roast. Chocolate sweetness with some nutty notes. Nice roast character and coffee add complexity. Moderate alcohol nose adds a wine-like touch.”

Flavor: “This beer tastes like a caramel dunked apple from the fair! Malt complexity from roast, caramel, and slight chocolate are well blended. Bitterness throughout to balance the malt. Sweet but not too sweet. Finishes smooth with a nice warming character in the end. I like the warmth and rich malt profile.”

Overall: “Once I thought caramel apple, I really had to look for other traits, but who doesn’t like caramel apples? Like chocolate dipped bing cherries—makes a great desert beer due to the moderate hops profile.” One judge remarked “This is better as an English barleywine than it is as an imperial stout.”
