Dieu Du Ciel! Péché Mortel
Aroma: “Roasted malt and coffee, reminiscent of espresso with a very subtle sweetness. Nice roasted malt character with a touch of sweetness that provides hints of dark fruit, chocolate, and coffee. The coffee character is strong and stands out.”
Flavor: “Dark roasted coffee flavors up front, almost bordering on burnt, yet not astringent. An intense dark chocolate, cacao nib front, with a balance of moderate coffee flavor. Some fruitiness, raisin, dates, dark cherry. Finishes roasty and slightly bitter. Finish is very estery, almost Belgian, with moderate alcohol heat.”
Overall: “Intensely sweet, chocolate layered with moderate coffee notes. This is a strong, bold, coffee-forward stout that will be most enjoyed by coffee fans. The coffee flavors come through as dark, bold roasted coffee beans and leave a lingering roasty bitterness.”
