Tallgrass Brewing Raspberry Jam
Aroma: “The subtle sweet raspberry and lime notes up front combine nicely with the acidity, even though everything is a bit subdued. Hints of moderate raisin, bready malt, sulfur work with the gummy Lifesavers, apricot, and peach.”
Flavor: “Big fruit notes all over the board—moderate raspberry, juicy lemon, and sweet gummy Lifesavers—with light sweetness, acidity, bitterness, and malt. It’s clean and fruity, with ester fruitiness boosted by the fruit additions. Some fructose sweetness in the aftertaste, and a dry finish.”
Overall: “It’s very drinkable but a bit lacking in real fruit character and complexity, due in part to the restrained acidity—which isn’t bad, it just lacks in excitement. The color makes the raspberry flavor a surprise, and my brain doesn’t identify raspberry in the aroma.”
