Eddyline Raspberry Wheat

What the brewers say

“Slightly tart American wheat made with pure Oregon raspberries.”

What our panel thought

“Nice raspberry aroma, medium strong and reminiscent of fresh, real fruit. There’s a bit of astringency from the skin and seeds, along with plenty of tartness from the fruit. The beer side is understated, but it’s a simple, refreshing summer thirst quencher.”

What our editors thought

“Satisfying raspberry on the nose with a bright fruit character that seems effortless and natural. On the sip, it’s a well-made raspberry wheat—clean, crisp, assertively fruit- forward. Solidly American in its construction and exactly as advertised. Great clarity in the fruit character.”

Aslan Brewing Dunkelweizen

“Fairly roast- and smoke-forward malt flavors are pleasant and, combined with a clean and slightly sweet finish, make the beer quite enjoyable. We just wish for a bit more subtle complexity in the malt flavors.”

Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat (2018)

“Bready aroma with a light fruity note and hints of an underlying candy-like sweetness. Slightly tart, reminiscent of green apples or cider—weird for the style but not unpleasant or off-putting. The dry finish ties the beer together with a lingering toasty note and minimal bitterness.”

Destihl Raspberry Lynnbrook

**Aroma:** “The mix of underripe berries, lemon juice, and lactic tartness add an intriguing complexity. There’s a hint of sulfur, toasted malt, and Cheerios.” **Flavor:** “The raspberries have a medium-to-low fruit flavor, and despite the distinct smell, not as strong as expected. Medium-high funk with a slight vegetal note and faint sulfur. Strong acidity distracts a bit from the fruitiness. Finishes dry with a hint of lingering tartness and very little bitterness.” **Overall:** “The noticeable sulfur and THP are a bit distracting, making it hard to get any more complex notes that this beer may have. The raspberry flavors are tart and strong, making it a great thirst quencher, even if those flavors are distracting.”
