Brasserie Dieu Du Ciel Rigor Mortis ABT

Aroma: “Nice nuanced aroma. Rich malt sweetness with notes of caramel and white bread and strong dark fruit character (prune, raisin, plum, dark cherry). Some nice spicy earthy notes: black pepper, slight bell pepper, a hint of alcohol warmth on the nose.”

Flavor: “Lots of rich, sweet, robust malt flavors with decent Belgian candi sugar lending notes of caramel and toffee. Dark fruit esters (mostly plum, cherry, raisin, and date) with just a hint of bitterness for balance. A moderately sweet finish. Moderate carbonation and a touch of alcohol warming. Good hops flavor with earthy and spicy notes. Nice warmth but stays sweet.”

Overall: “Lots of complexity, both in malt and fruit. A touch sweeter than the best in the style, but overall extremely tasty, with nice fruit, and very complex.”
