Heavy Seas Schnee Boot
Aroma: “Rum up front followed quickly by bourbon-barrel oak, toffee, bready malt, bourbon-filled chocolate, spicy alcohol, stewed plums, vanilla, butterscotch, toffee, fig, raisin, and prune.”
Flavor: “A pronounced sweetness that slowly fades and is balanced by fairly strong alcohol. Bourbon-barrel oak, toffee, bready malt, stewed plums, big dose of hot alcohol, very drying. Alcohol spiciness is probably enhanced with noble hops. Finishes like a boozy Belgian dark strong or a candy bar.”
Overall: “Wonderfully complex and satisfyingly drinkable. The oak-derived flavors and aromas definitely enhance rather than detract from the base beer. An excellent beer to cozy up to next to a fire!”
