Side Project Brewing Grisette

What the brewers say

"Grisette is inspired by the soft session beers of Belgium. The blond color, notes of floral European hops, and delicate, bright finish create a complex, yet very approachable beer. This farmhouse-inspired table beer was aged in a Missouri oak foedre for several months before being naturally conditioned in this bottle."

What our panel thought

"Bright citrus, tart cherry, and stone fruit aromatics blend with hints of leather, spice and funk, creating a lively nose. The flavor is a bit more subdued with hints of apple and pear playing off a peppery spice note, but it all comes together harmoniously with just enough acidity to notice but not distract."

What our editors thought

"Light chalky nose with a touch of Brett Brux pique and very subtle fruit undertones. The sip forwards that chalky fruit balance, like a subtle bokeh blur where just the lemony tartness comes into focus."

Side Project Brewing à la Table

“Lively aroma with hints of stone fruit, citrus, leather, tart cherry pie, and wet hay gives way to a subtle and gentle flavor profile equal parts refreshing and crisp. An initial blast of nectarine-like acidity with hints of chardonnay grape quickly fades into a soft, thin, crisp body that slowly fades into nothingness … in a good way. Just enough tartness and complexity to inspire another glass—sessionable funk.”

Side Project Grisette

Inviting aroma: grass, lemon, pepper, bready barnyard. Funk is present but subdued; quite tart. Effervescence helps to give it a clean, crisp mouthfeel. Simple, with no wow factor.

Side Project Brewing Le Saisonnier

Funky bouquet of citrus pith, earth, leather, peach, vanilla, and hints of sour cherry. Gently tart flavor with soft, pillowy malt and round funky-yeasty flavors that play nicely together. Subtle oak and grape-like notes. Delicate, dry, stone-fruit finish. Get me a big bottle of this with cheese and crackers.
