Timmermans Elderflower Lambicus

What the brewers say

“Light aroma of freshly picked elderflowers, soft citrus undertones.”

What our panel thought

“Lovely elderflower aroma, more floral than fruity despite subtle vinous notes, accompanied by a slight and intriguing earthy jalapeño note. Tart, dry, effervescent, with a brief zesty citrus flash that vanishes into the dusty lambic-cellar cobwebs.”

What our editors thought

“Woody herbal aroma with a touch of bread crust. Layered herbal tones with very light bready malt through the sip, and just a bit of mineral structure.”

Timmermans Pumpkin Lambicus

**Aroma:** “Lovely aroma of gingerbread cookies, spiced cider, and pumpkin-pie spices. This beer has a sour apple tartness as well, providing extra complexity. Sweet malt caramel notes come through over strong pumpkin aroma, fresh from the garden.” **Flavor:** “The beer starts with a tart sour apple-cider flavor that then rolls into the pumpkin-pie spices and pumpkin character. Nice cinnamon and nutmeg, and good malt sweetness (almost caramel) carries through this beer to the finish. Spices and pumpkin flavor nicely melded. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel.” **Overall:** “Many different aspects come through, from the tart slight-sweet sourness to the spiced character and malt sweetness. I actually taste pumpkin over the spices, apple, and malt flavors. Quite drinkable with enough spice to make it special for the fall/winter time of year. Very approachable.”

Jiant Hard Kombucha: Passion Fruit + Elderflower

Slightly hazed straw color. Solid passion-fruit aroma, lemony; lovely floral notes like St. Germain liqueur. Light sweetness up front—highlighting soft, delicate floral flavor—well-balanced with tartness. Grounded with light, earthy tannin. Spicy, leathery notes add complexity. Clean, dry, well-balanced.

Lindemans Brewery Lindemans Oude Gueuze Cuvée René

“Super _Brett_-forward aroma with elements of leather, horse blanket, earthy lemon, wet-concrete followed by subtle grassy notes. The sip is funky but bright, with lemon, leather, earthy pepper, on lively effervescence. Finishes nicely tart and slightly citric.”
