Allagash Brewing White

What the brewers say

“Allagash White features a refreshing balance of citrus and spice. Wheat, coriander, and Curaçao orange peel round out the flavor of this pale straw-colored, hazy beer.”

What our panel thought

“Spice and banana fruit meld well on the nose. Fruitcake-like, in a good way. Its moderately high carbonation and spicy, hoppy flavors balance fairly well with the wheat-forward malt flavors. It finishes crisp, slightly bitter, and somewhat dry, which invites you back for more. Spice notes linger a while in the dry finish.”

What our editors thought

“Very subtle tartness and fruit on the nose with some chalky fermentation character that transitions to crisp and crackery on the sip. Peppery notes keep it brisk and bright. The 6-pack abs of witbiers.”
