More and more breweries are crafting recipes with gluten-free grains and dabbling in gluten removal in their beers. Here are five gluten-free beers to try in 2015.

New Grist
Lakefront Brewery (Milwaukee, Wisconsin)

The Lakefront Brewery New Grist pilsner was the first gluten-free beer to be granted label approval by the U.S. government. Each batch of the beer, brewed with sorghum and rice, is tested for gluten content before it is bottled. This sessionable pilsner pours golden colored, with a bubbly head and fruit-forward aroma. Its flavor is crisp and refreshing, fruity with hints of green apple slices. Pair New Grist with grilled fish and vegetables.

Glutenator
Epic Brewing (Salt Lake City, Utah, and Denver, Colorado)

Epic Brewing brews this gluten-free ale with millet, brown rice, sweet potatoes, and molasses, along with plenty of American hops. This beer takes on aromas of hops and sweet potatoes with a sweet grain flavor and a clean finish. Pair Glutenator with chicken salad.

Omission IPA
Widmer Brothers Brewing (Portland, Oregon)

This hoppy, Northwest-style IPA is brewed with pale and caramel malt and hopped with Summit and Cascade hops. Its gluten is extracted using a proprietary process and measured at an independent lab. Omission, a Widmer Brothers line of beers, also includes a lager and a pale ale in its gluten-removed beer lineup. Pair Omission IPA with Massaman curry.

Gluten-Free Brown Ale
New Planet Beer (Boulder, Colorado)

This brown ale has taken home two Great American Beer Festival medals in the gluten-free category. It’s brewed with sorghum, brown rice, molasses, maltodextrin, coffee, cocoa, vanilla, and cinnamon and balanced with Centennial and Sterling hops. Pair Gluten-Free Brown Ale with Gouda cheese.

Dark Ale
Ground Breaker Brewing (Portland, Oregon)

The recently opened Ground Breaker Brewery is a gluten-free dedicated craft brewery in Portland, Oregon, that recently took home a Great American Beer Festival medal for its Dark Ale. This easy-drinking dark beer uses very dark, near espresso-like, roasted chestnuts and lentils with Belgian-style candi for a roasted flavor and aroma with notes of chocolate and dark fruits. Pair Dark Ale with flourless chocolate cake.
