Two Roads Brewing Co Persian Lime Gose

What the brewers say

“Dominant fresh lime flavor with a backdrop of salt and light sweetness.”

What our panel thought

“Lush key lime–pie aroma. Lime-peel earthiness with a hint of white cake and bread crust. Low sweetness into moderately strong lactic and citric sour. The acidity isn’t harsh but pushes the limits. The flavors are great but intense.”

What our editors thought

“Earthy lime on the nose. A rather intense burst of citrus acidity in the sip is highlighted by effervescent carbonation. Finishes with a pleasant, semisweet, lingering citrus.”

The Lost Abbey Tiny Bubbles Key Lime

“Pleasant passion-fruit aroma mixed with light funky earthiness. Soft body—pillows of gentle acidity injected with sharper lemon-lime notes. A touch of salt and a drier finish cleanse the palate for another sip.”

Two Roads Brewing Co Cloud Sourced

“Moderate lime and lemongrass aroma with light apricot ester. Very subdued bitterness, but lots of hop flavor—lime zest, grapefruit. The lemony hops skirt close to oily, and the flavor pushes a hair closer, but it’s softened by bready malt.”

Freigeist Geisterzug Gose

**Aroma:** “Moderate fruity peach and orange, with light citrus notes. The nose is a blend of lemon tartness with some spruce/pine-like mint character. Slight earthiness and a note of fresh straw, as well as a medium bread or yeast character.” **Flavor:** “Medium spicy and dry flavor up front, with a moderate spruce and mint earthiness that extends well into the finish. Subtle wild notes and slight funk. A biscuit sweetness from the malt, and a medium body. Lightly salted, with low carbonation. A good combination of maltiness and earth tones.” **Overall:** “Earthy, with light spices that dominate the flavor, as well as a light sourness and medium sweetness. It’s an unexpected pairing of spruce tips with a tart base beer, and the combination works better than spruce pale ales.”
