What the brewers say

“Hints of earthy, floral, and spice with a floral aroma.”

What our panel thought

“Balanced aroma featuring toasted or caramel malt, with woody, earthy hops. Some red-apple or peach aromas. Smooth malt flavor, with firm bitterness for balance. Hop flavor favors woody, subtle varieties. Lingering caramel malt flavor.”

What our editors thought

“Classic pale-ale nose, with light stone-fruit esters, a bit of bready malt, and a light orange blossom floral bitterness. A bit chalky in the sip, adding a matte sheen to the otherwise defined floral bitterness.”

Allusion Brewing 1810 Oktoberfest

“Light, malty, slightly funky. A restrained, almost-wild yeast character adds interesting complexity. Hop bitterness pleasantly lingers. ”

Temescal Brewing Plant Parent

“Dank woodsy combines with orange marmalade spread across a low biscuity, light cracker background. Bitterness stands up but in a hushed form that doesn’t measure up to the malt. Still, the hop flavor punches through. Clean aftertaste, and dry.”

Outer Range Brewing Co. One More Frontier

__Aroma:__ “Lemony and dank, like a Lemonhead that you rolled into some spruce tips. Orange and blood orange in the background. There’s also a minty thing going on. Toasty malt notes.” __Flavor:__ “Candied lemon pulls through on the flavor. Definitely a hint of grass but not the pronounced pine that is suggested in the aroma. Also some orange sweetness, pithy, with a lemongrass note on the finish and hints of strawberry. Bitterness is more pithy lemon than straight up harsh hops bitterness. Balance is sweet throughout but finishes dry and slightly bitter.” __Overall:__ “Really interesting complex hops aroma with lemon, mint, and pine. Very balanced overall. Very enjoyable with a likeable interplay of grassy hops character and bitter finish.”
