Alma Mader Brewing Small Oasis

What the brewers say

Effortlessly drinkable while still packing a mighty hop punch. This one finishes dry with aromas reminiscent of berries and dank peaches.

What our panel thought

Lingering white foam with rocky bubbles. Aroma of dankness and earth, with notes of Honeycrisp apple, strawberry, and light raspberry. In the flavor, pleasant bitterness mingles with the sweetness; slight green-apple hop bite joins sticky diesel dankness and leads it slightly astray.

What our editors thought

Honey guava note drives the nose, with a clever tension between sweet and funk. The sip gets a touch muddled, with sweeter notes running up against less-defined bitter and funky notes.

Alma Mader Brewing Trichrome: Mosaic Incognito

“Lightly dank, earthy, and resinous notes with hints of pine, grapefruit, and lemon for a complex, inviting nose. That carries into the flavor with a cohesive blend of dankness, pine, grapefruit, a touch of onion, a light malt sweetness, and a soft mouthfeel.”

Alma Mader Brewing Breezecatcher

“Big hop nose with juicy notes of grapefruit, pineapple, citrus, and a light dank, grassy note. Fresh-squeezed OJ with some crushed basil. Creamy, full on the palate—mouthfeel suggests sweetness that isn’t quite there. Big character, balanced by turning up all the dials.”

Alma Mader Brewing Shifting Shapes

“Soapy and floral hop notes in the aroma blend with subtle fruity notes of strawberry and lemon. Light, clean malt sweetness balances the dank, earthy, and pine-like bitterness that lingers long into the dank, pine-forward assertively bitter finish.”
