American Solera I Wanna Talk About Mosaic

What the brewers say

“IPA dry hopped with Mosaic.”

What our panel thought

“Peppery tropical-fruit salad, melon, citrus, and pine say, ‘Drink me.’ Dank, earthy, and a bit vegetal in the aroma, with some subtle hints of garlic and chives. Sweet malt supports the peach and strawberry notes dancing in the background, while the soft bitterness blurs the line between juicy and West Coast.”

What our editors thought

“Powdery stone fruit in the nose, with a light stone-fruity sweetness in the sip. Structured with a zippy bitterness that holds it together and provides a beautiful foil for the sweeter fruit notes.”

2nd Shift Brewing Co Art of Neurosis

“The nose is dank and earthy, but fairly muted. Light floral, resin, and pineapple. Medium malt, high firm bitterness. The flavor pivots to a dark, resinous pine paired with a little toasty malt and resin, pepper, light diesel, and orange or grapefruit citrus. Bitterness builds in the aftertaste.”

Arches Brewing Simply Sticky IPA

“Nose leans tropical, toward pineapple-banana daiquiri with danker edges. Lively medium body, nearly fluffy; has the sweetness to push that tropical-fruit flavor before a sticky and resinous bitterness seeps in. That unrelenting bitterness is challenging, making it feel disjointed.”

Crooked Run Group Therapy

Complex citrus—zesty lime, orange, lemon. Chewy mouthfeel, with pleasant, citrus-accented sweetness that balances the low bitterness. A bit muddled; wouldn’t mind a drier finish.
