Idle Hands Craft Ales Weinlager

What the brewers say

“If Germany and Napa Valley had a love child, this would be it.”

What our panel thought

“White-wine grape juice in the aroma, with funky notes reminiscent of aged lambic hops. Balanced and interesting with weird edges that add character without being over the top. Pushes the boundaries of a lager.”

What our editors thought

“Gentle and bright, with soft fruity notes and a light quirky sulfur note. The sip underplays the wine-grape component, thoughtfully, as subtle threads weave through the light herbal bitterness.”

Idle Hands Craft Ales Splitter

“Sweet citrus with a distinct alcohol note and light peppery phenolics. Pineapple juice flavor, with a light grassy hop note. Also mango and citrus. A subtle bite on the finish. Soft on the palate and very well-balanced. Well put-together; will satisfy juiceheads.”

Idle Hands Craft Ales Six Seam

“Nose of dried fruit, light tropical mango, peach, tangerine, a hint of grass. Nice hop flavor with orange peel, peach, grapefruit zest, offset by an astringent tannin. Fairly bitter, dry. Seems muddled and indistinct. Hops linger, but not harsh. Some heat becomes evident. Rough on the edges.”

Radiant Beer Co Little Presents

“Very delicate aromatics—floral hops and hints of lemongrass. The flavor begins just as soft-spoken, but opens up to reveal pleasant perfume-like bitter notes that linger. That soft-loud dynamic may get lost among more flavor-forward peers, but it’s almost too good at finding that delicate, understated balance.”
