What the brewers say

“Our Mexican-style lager is everything you could want. A hint of corn on the aroma is part of what gives this beer it’s slight sweetness and is reminiscent of summertime and tacos on the beach, but the crisp, dry finish will leave you wanting more.”

What our panel thought

“Super-light. Extremely light. There aren’t enough adjectives to properly describe just how light this beer is. Is brut Mexican lager a thing? Effervescent, extremely dry, and exact, with just enough malt character to keep it this side of hard seltzer, and some pleasant grassy hop notes on the swallow. Starting with a very light bready aroma, the flavor follows through with light grainy bread notes and just a hint of floral hops. Minerality is moderately low and well balanced. Definitely not the most interesting or layered beer you might come across, but that’s not the point with the style.”

What our editors thought

“Seltzer lightness in the color and nose belies the surprisingly tasty body. Light biscuity malt notes with minimal bitterness and a bright carbonation. Something so light shouldn’t also be this flavorful, but the brewer has pulled off an impressive sleight of hand.”
