Pure Project Mantra

What the brewers say

“Nelson Sauvin hops and pressed Sauvignon Blanc grapes were added.”

What our panel thought

“Restrained nose with hints of wine grape as it warms, coupled with graham- cracker malt and a whisper of earthy hops. Grape tannins emphasize bitterness well without being overbearing. Medium hop flavor—resin, woody, floral, black pepper, garlic. Finishes very dry.”

What our editors thought

“White wine–grape nose is rollicking and playful. Sip gets down to business with a firm bitterness softened by gentle white-grape notes with a candy edge. Big, but conveys cleanly with a tightly edited accessibility.”

Pure Project Super Beta

“Zesty citrus nose with tropical punch; notes of herbal hops, pine, peppery spice. In the flavor, resinous hops take the lead with citrus in support. Soft yet firm malt base. Finish leans bitter, but not harsh, with bright pops of orange and lemon.”

Vitamin Sea Brewing Atlantic Sunset

“Invitingly deep haze. Soft citrus peeks through on the nose with a deeper layer of diesel notes. The flavor leans sweaty tropical with deep ripe mango while notes of spice appear. A bit of sharp bitterness cuts through in the midtones to provide some depth. Soft pillowy malt structure.”

Perennial Artisan Ales DDH Cave Torch

Pleasant orange aromas with a touch of biscuit coming through. Soft over the palate with bright orange notes up front that complement the citrus-driven hops. Could benefit from some more carbonation. Some-what sweet finish with assertive orange flavors and some candy notes. Very well executed in pairing the fruit with the hops.
