COVA Brewing Company Coffee snob

What the brewers say

“A tribute to our best-selling in-house latte, Coffee Snob is a vanilla latte stout.”

What our panel thought

“Coffee-like notes in the aroma with a hint of chile pepper–like spice, touches of dark chocolate. Slightly synthetic vanilla character emerges in the flavor to balance the bitterness of the coffee, roast malt, and hops. Bitter pine and light citrus hops emerge with some acidity.”

What our editors thought

“Woody, nutty coffee tones in the aroma with light chocolate. Gentle caramel sweetness with a nutty edge layers over jagged dark chocolate notes, for a bit of dynamic tension.”

COVA Brewing Company COVA Lager

“Pleasant grassy, floral, hint-of-citrus aroma that plays well with the light hay. Firm hop bitterness up front, with herbal hop flavor and a hint of marmalade, doughy grain. It drinks like a light regional pils but with an American hop flavor. Fun and creative.”

COVA Brewing Company Peach Vibes

“A fantastic incorporation of basil throughout provides the through-line on which the rest of the beer is built. The peach adds earthiness and sweetness and a bitter edge to the finish. Definitely up there on the weird scale, but very well executed.”

Arizona Wilderness Brewing Superstition Coffee Stout

“Hints of chocolate, toffee, vanilla complement fresh-roasted coffee notes in the nose. In the flavor, coffee notes balance well with a slightly sweet body and light acidity. Subtle vanilla smooths out the flavors. Finish is a touch watery but still leaves you wanting another drink.”
