What the brewers say

“Rotating double IPA, dry-hopped with Mosaic, Simcoe, and Rakau.”

What our panel thought

“Tropical-fruit aroma with peach and plum notes. Fresh, sweet fruit flavors—lemon, mango, some pineapple. Crisp light hop bitterness doesn’t overpower the fruity hop flavors. The lightly sweet and pillowy-soft malt body serves as a perfect canvas.”

What our editors thought

“Strawberry, pineapple, and guava notes with a creamy texture. It feels luxurious and indulgent yet concise. A bright, tropically tinted bitterness and crisp carbonation keep it lively and help defy gravity. Delicious or deep, enjoy it on any level.”

WeldWerks Double Guava Milkshake

Deep orange color with chunks. Distinctive guava nose with vanilla. Balanced mouthfeel between the lactose and fruit while allowing the base beer to show itself. Sweet by design, but restrained.

Standard Brewing OK Fine

Decidedly citrus-forward aromas and flavors of orange peel, lemon, and tangerine with some earthy and piney aspects hiding the background. The soft mouthfeel accentuates the pleasant and sweeter hops notes for an approachability for the bitter-beer hater. The finish is bitter but not harsh or astringent and has a curious citrus tang to it.

Finback Brewery BlueShift

“Pleasant aromatics of earthy berries mingle with the spicy aspects of the cinnamon to create the impression of tart-and-spicy blueberry oatmeal. It’s blueberry pie meets mulling spices to create a tart, spicy, yet fruity take on the kettle sour.”
