Great Divide Brewing Co Hazy IPA

What the brewers say

“A juicy and balanced mix of citrus hops that brings out the aromatic characteristics of papaya and mango and finishes with a hint of ripe strawberries.”

What our panel thought

“Tropical and citrus notes of pineapple, orange, and guava in the aroma blend with some lightly earthy and floral notes. The earthy and floral notes come to the fore in the sip, and they are accentuated by a lightly chalky note in the mouthfeel that creates a drying bitterness that lingers into the finish.”

What our editors thought

“Shimmery melon, stone-fruit nose, conventionally bitter piney sip. Simple, but compelling.”

Great Divide Brewing Hazy IPA

Smells like freshly picked hops, a mélange of dankness, grapefruit, passion fruit, pine. Solid malt backbone balanced with smooth bitterness. Hop flavors dominate: pineapple, pine resin, diesel. West Coast flavor in a hazy IPA. Soft, pillowy mouthfeel. Pleasantly bitter, not harsh or astringent.

Great Divide Brewing Co Experimental IPA

“Understated aroma, but the hop profile saves the day. Candied fruits and bright citrus work well with the sweetness, but it is a touch cloying. Bitterness is low and approachable. Hop character in the flavor falls slightly short of the aroma. By no means does this push the boundaries, but it is simplistically drinkable.”

Ecliptic Brewing Cryo Frozen Fresh Hop Double IPA

“Fruit cocktail, sweet bright red cherries, mango, grapes, Fruity Pebbles. Sweet and fruity flavor really shines. The sweet graininess with warming alcohol is quickly dissipated by the hop bitterness and ends well-balanced.”
