Highland Park Brewery Training Bines

What the brewers say

“Originally brewed at Pinthouse. Our take has aromas of blueberry, plum skin, big grapefruit zest thanks to Citra, Mosaic, Motueka, and Simcoe hops.”

What our panel thought

“Complex, fruity, herbal aroma. The flavor is citrus, light malt, and alcohol and finishes with a sweet lemon pithiness. The sweet, soft malt profile struggles to contrast the hop bitterness. Hop flavor is ultra-fruity, but more herbal than spicy.”

What our editors thought

“Vivid pineapple nose with a with a bit of yuzu freshness and a touch of tropical funk. Zippy sip freshly and cleanly conveys the notes of the nose.”

Cloudburst Brewing Training Bines

“Complex, sweet hop aroma with Lemon Pledge, green papaya, and honeydew melon with a touch of pepper. The flavor has a strong bitter and citrus element that dominates and carries through to a peppery finish. Finishes clean with just a hint of alcohol.”

Green Cheek Beer Company- Costa Mesa Training Bines

“Subtle nose with lemon, papaya, pine, and a slightly sweet malt in the mix. The flavor has hints of hash, pineapple, mango, and orange candy, with a classic, clean malt profile that lingers behind the hops. Hop bitterness keeps the beer in the spectrum but well balanced.”

Green Cheek Beer Company- Costa Mesa Happily Deceased

“Classic hop profile in the aroma: grapefruit, orange, pine, a bit of green onion, chives. A hint of bready malt. The flavor echoes the aroma. Moderate sweetness into moderate bitterness. Finish is quite dry, very clean. Modern take on a classic West Coast IPA.”
