Hop Butcher For the World Airglow

What the brewers say

Strata-hopped hazy pale ale.

What our panel thought

Huge velvety head, long-lasting. Sweet tropical aroma with notes of lemon and orange zest. Fun flavor, with big malt sweetness and intermingling lemon, tangerine, kiwi, pineapple, and peach notes. Juicy. Sweetness prevails.

What our editors thought

Round and sweaty tropical fruit—passion fruit, guava—with a definite fruit-funk on the nose. Big and bold. The sip is endearingly sweet, riding that delicate line between just enough and too much. Tropical fruit owns the approach.

Hop Butcher For the World Roost

“Commanding, well-executed, happy marriage of hops: earthy, subtle fruit notes of passion fruit and orange, dank, and fresh-cut grass. The flavor profile extends the old school meets new school contour. Bitterness stays medium low, but leaves some sweetness hanging out, a detour from the pronounced hop boldness.”

Odell Brewing Co Drumroll Hazy Pale Ale

Robust head. Dank, tropical aroma with an ashy note. In the flavor, tropical and citrus fruit dominate—a Limoncello bite, with grainy malt backbone that stands up well to the bitterness and juicy flavor. Easy sipper. Great sweet-bitter balance. Very approachable.

Crooked Run Group Therapy

Complex citrus—zesty lime, orange, lemon. Chewy mouthfeel, with pleasant, citrus-accented sweetness that balances the low bitterness. A bit muddled; wouldn’t mind a drier finish.
