Hop Butcher For the World Destination Moon

What the brewers say

“Mosaic-, Chinook-, and Simcoe-hopped.”

What our panel thought

“Mangos, melons, stone fruit, and gooseberries, perhaps even a bit of dank and pine. Bitterness falls somewhere between IPA coasts. The flavor profile follows tropical fruit and a light caramel, with a blast of resinous pine and dank that carries through to the bitter and lightly dry finish. Bold and aggressive.”

What our editors thought

“A bit of guava fruit with an earthy pineapple back—the tropical cocktail piece is evident. On the sip, fruit notes hang in pitched relief against a classic piney backdrop. Modern with a classic twist.”

Hop Butcher For the World Double Pepperoni

“Soft, subtle aromas of orange and melons. Sweet, rich, bright flavor of candied apple, lemonade, and a light cotton candy toward the end. Apricot and pineapple make an appearance. A significant bitterness greets you and rides the wave into the finish.”

Liquid Mechanics Brewing Company Playing with Madness

“Hop aroma leans into piney dankness but doesn’t overcommit. Strong grapefruit with light diesel and pine. Seems almost too simple initially, but really builds a lovely flavor experience throughout tasting. Soft, almost floral pink peppercorn finish. Bitterness very restrained. Dry, elegant, and flavorful finish lasts a while.”

Alma Mader Brewing Premiant

Light, sweet, grainy-malt nose and bright, herbal-floral hops with notes of zest and spice. Nice round hop flavor, with gentle malt sweetness helping to push lemony-herbal notes. Clean and soft. Spicy hop finish begs more sips. Integrated and harmonious.
