What the brewers say

“Brewed with pilsner malt and flaked corn. Light, crisp, refreshing.”

What our panel thought

“Sweet, lightly estery aroma with stewed corn. Flavor has pleasant crackery malt, spritzy with a slightly metallic, papery finish. Cleanly fermented. A crusher, effervescent and light, a touch of acidity. Balances on the sweet side; a little more hop character would make it more memorable. Would benefit from a lime wedge.”

What our editors thought

“Neutral nose with very faint floral hop notes. A touch sweet in the sip, with light carb and a medium bready middle that feels a touch big for the style.”

Fly Llama Brewing Me Llamo Llamo

“Grainy, bready nose presents itself as somewhat husky. A hit of perfumy and herbal hops greets you. The malt is out of the way, just a hint of sweetness with moderately low bitterness. A green-fruit character and acidity finishes with the sip. Flabby. Crushable, reminding me of its European roots. Salt of the earth.”

12 West Brewing Company Onza

“Malt-foward with a kiss of sweet lime zest to keep it drinkable and honest. The flavor drops off a bit. Bready malt and sweet corn-on-the-cob preview an effervescent, dry finish. Very clean, but the acidity doesn’t match the lime aroma, and that’s a bit off-putting.”

Kings County Brewers Collective Welcome to the Underworld

“Big white head with tight bubbles and a brilliantly clear, yellow color. Bright floral notes in the aroma. Touch of sulfur really adds structure. The first sip delivers crisp malt, a soft and slight sweetness, and a very clean, crisp, dry finish. These components expertly dance around each other creating a pleasant impression. A well-crafted beer.”
