Wibby Moondoor Dunkel
What the brewers say
“Supple and crisp, this delectable dark lager has a medium body, which starts with a chocolate roast and ends with ordering it again.”
What our panel thought
Aroma: “A lively combination of light roasts of coffee, toast, and chocolate. It’s joined by a subtle earthy and spicy hops aroma mixed with dried cherries and a hint of corn. All well-balanced and coming off as clean.”
Flavor: “The malt has some nice toffee and dark cherry character, but it’s a bit overwhelmed by the roast astringency that overpowers things a bit. Some caramelized sweetness dances around to help mellow it overall. The finish is dry, with lingering coffee and grassy hop bitterness.”
Overall: “Toastier than a biergarten in August, but some surprising hops aromatics that complement the roasted aromas and flavors nicely.”
