What the brewers say

“Pale lager with Troubadour Serenade and flaked maize. German Noble hops and lager yeast.”

What our panel thought

“Delightfully full of character. Great white-bread aroma, sweet corn perfume, with a mineral-like carbonation. A moderate bitterness breathes some hop spiciness in there. Soft tortilla malt character finishes very clean on retronasal exhale. Venturing toward Bavarian but remains easy-drinking, easy to return to. Well attenuated and beautifully quaffable.”

What our editors thought

“Beautiful clarity, with a touch of color that suggests intention. Vaguely sweet malt nose with a touch of corn and no noticeable hop notes. Very light and approachable corn and malt sweetness in the sip, with faint floral and citrus-hop tones only there to balance. Finishes quick and clean, with a captivating orange-blossom note. Evokes sweetness without being sweet, appears crisp without being austere, and captures beautiful beer flavors while still remaining light and easy to drink.”

Uhl’s Brewing Co Mediodia

“Pale, with thick foam. Sweet, corny, and cracker-malt character. Finishes dry and drinkable. Well-made, highly consumable. Maybe the most unassuming beer we’ve had—nothing to fault it, but also nothing that says much. Clean and balanced. Could be the beer the Beastie Boys were rapping about in ‘Paul Revere.’”

New Image Brewing Co Premium Pils

“Light, crisp pomme fruit and floral hints in the aroma. Subtle malt aromas, with a light touch of banana. Honeysuckle, water cracker, white grape, and some dehydrated orange rinds. Very light body with a low hop bitterness. Finishes dry.”

New Image Brewing Co Classic Pils

“Clean Noble hop aromatics with hints of cracker and bread crust. Floral notes and hints of lemongrass create a clean, fresh bitterness that is well balanced by a light malt body. Clean, crisp finish with a nice mouth-coating bitterness that lingers into the next sip.”
