Outer Range Brewing Co Hirschgarten Helles Lager

What the brewers say

“Traditional Munich helles with notes of graham cracker and honey.”

What our panel thought

“A modern twist on a classic style. Sweet grainy aroma with a nice touch of peach. Pumpernickel doughy malt plus an herbal and citrusy flavor, like light cucumber and soft oregano. Well balanced between the pleasant bitterness and sweetness. Hearty mouthfeel but very soft and unassuming. Spry malt character ends in a very clean and quick finish.”

What our editors thought

“Light nutty malt nose that carries through with rustic almond and yellow floral notes. Substantial.”

Outer Range Brewing Co In The Steep

“Wide range of hop aromas: apricot, resin, kiwi, honeysuckle, tea, all in harmony. Flavors is in line with the aroma with lemon, grass, and tea-like notes. A grainy taste with a well-balanced bitterness. Dry mouthfeel, for a hazy, with a sharp finish and minimal alcohol presence.”

Outer Range Brewing Co Tromping

“Not a juicy IPA, but it’s squishy. Hop aroma of light pine, grass, a very light note of buttery diacetyl. Malt offers biscuit and pie crust. Initial sip delivers a light, minty spice note, then softens to light orange peel and peach yeast esters. Finish is a touch fruit sweet.”

Outer Range Brewing Co Pluck Pluck Pluck Rice Lager

“Some refreshing aromas for a rice lager. Grassy and very bright key-lime notes dominate the nose. Big, tart citrus flavor follows suit as expected, with the slightest sweet-grain flavor. Just the right amount of bitterness to stiffen it up. Finish is crisp and refreshing.”
