Precarious Beer Project Kung Fu Kittens

What the brewers say

“Hazy IPA, heavily hopped with El Dorado and Citra. This bad boy is soft, fluffy, and dangerous.”

What our panel thought

“Complex, inviting aroma: sweaty, overripe tropical fruit, orange, and lemon, with earthy-dank notes and touches of pine, garlic, and floral elements. Bountiful tropical-fruit flavors, with citrus, pine, cedar combining well and supported by light malt and soft, cloud-like mouthfeel. Subtle smoky hint. Soothing finish, bitter but pleasant, with oozing, juice-laden hop flavors.”

What our editors thought

“Light orange, lemon, papaya, yuzu, and citrus zest. Sip is sweeter orange but structured with a light bitterness.”

Precarious Beer Project Jiu Jitsu Shih Tzu

“Delightful nose of green papaya salad, pink Starburst, a hint of dank, pineapple, tangerine with a subtle grainy malt presence. Bite of orange pith and a bit pepper in the flavor. Starts out fruity sweet but transitions to a dry citrus finish.”

Precarious Beer Project Sepulveda

“Earthy, piney hops drive the aroma with low malt notes. Soft, sweet, bread doughy flavor. Floral and spicy hops. Nice bitter finish complements the sun-ripened sweetness. Spritzy, lively body elevates the base malty flavors. Supremely drinkable.”

Central Standard Brewing Gamma Squeeze

Heady bud nose, bright, with a slight tinge of lime. Flavor is like hop juice, a fistfight between tropical fruit and bitterness; skunky, gassy, with light licorice and a slight burn. A bit muddy. Super creative, even for an inherently creative style.
