Sideward Brewing Co Know Your Enemy

What the brewers say

“Big, juicy, tropical IPA. Brewed with Citra Cryo and Mosaic hop oil, then double dry hopped with Citra, Nelson, and Vic Secret.”

What our panel thought

“American hop character—citrus, pine, and tar punch up front; dank, diesel, light tropical notes. In the flavor, mild sweetness attempts to balance significant hop presence—garlic, diesel, light grassy-citrus undercurrents. Somewhat chalky, mineral-forward. Strong, bitter finish.”

What our editors thought

“Woody tropical nose with a passion-fruit undercurrent. The sip captures that fruity wood note, with a bright bitterness that quickly dries it out. Funky and fun.”

Omission Bright Eyed IPA

“Light Earl Grey tea and wort aroma. The hop aroma is a bit muted, but the flavor delivers the hops and has a medium level of supporting bitterness. Clean and refreshing with medium-high carbonation and a semidry finish.”

Pinthouse Brewing Tommy Try Mosaic

“Orange peel, tangerine, light pine and grass, papaya, pineapple on the nose. Hop flavor dominates with orange/lemon peel, tangerine, light lime zest, hints of pine, black pepper. Firm bitterness.”

The Lost Abbey Noble Tendencies

Bright, pale gold with good lace. Pleasant, floral nose; earthy-spicy hops meld with clean, sweet, vanilla-like malt. Perfumey. Flavor is malty up front—soft, sweetish, easygoing—with gentle bitterness that is part of the whole. Medium-dry finish. Aromatic, soft, helles-like. Sweet malt and spicy hops linger. Nice beer.
